Park Medical Centers – Your First Stop for Health Care

A Primary Care practice, like Park Medical Centers, serves as the patient’s first point of entry into the health care system and as the continuing point for all health care services. Primary Care is traditionally the point of ‘first contact’ for the patient when a medical illness, issue or concern arises. You can think of your Primary Care Provider as the quarterback and coach of your health team. Primary Care not only treats the patient when they are ill, but works with the patient when they are healthy to establish strong health maintenance skills by practicing disease prevention and health education.

Primary Care is provided by medical professionals specifically trained for and skilled in comprehensive first contact and continuing care for persons with any undiagnosed sign, symptom, or health concern. Primary Care includes health promotion, disease prevention, health maintenance, counseling, patient education, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses. Primary Care is performed and managed by a personal Physician, Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner along with other health professionals, consultation and/or referrals as appropriate.

Our Medical Team

In addition to our team of Physicians at Park Medical Centers, you may be treated by a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant, both advanced health care professionals found in many health organizations. These professionals possess unique attitudes, skills, and knowledge which enable them to provide continuing and comprehensive medical care, health maintenance and preventive services to each member of the family regardless of sex, age or type of problem. These specialists are best qualified to serve as each patient’s advocate in all health-related matters.

Both Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants treat illnesses, prescribe medications, and work closely with Primary Care physicians. The differences lie in the training and education of each specialty. Our NPs and PAs have the training to provide the care you need. Some of the responsibilities of both positions are:

  • Prescribe medication
  • Obtain medical histories
  • Perform physical assessments and examinations
  • Diagnose and treat common illnesses and injuries
  • Administer vaccinations and immunizations
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic and laboratory studies
  • Counsel and teach health and nutrition
  • Screen and refer patients to specialists and other health care providers

Staying Healthy is Our Priority

The focus of Park Medical Centers is your health and convenience. That is why no appointment is ever needed!
